AI marketing for audiology providers
Since October 2022 an adult can buy a hearing aid off a shelf without seeing anybody. Your entire argument now has to be about what the appointment adds.
The device stopped being the product the day it became something you could pick up next to the batteries.
Written for a market the FDA reopened.
Which audiology business are you?
A retail hearing aid chain, an independent audiology practice, and a single audiologist all lost the same monopoly on the same day and have different things to replace it with. Pick the one that matches what you run.
Audiology use cases
Four jobs the platform runs on an audiology account, all downstream of the OTC rule.
Explain What OTC Misses
Perceived loss is not measured loss, and the difference is the whole argument.
Own The Early Search
People researching for years before acting, who nobody is talking to.
Work The Trial List
Fittings that did not convert, which in this field is a large number.
Replies That Name Nobody
A review answered without confirming anyone was ever a patient here.
Other medical and dental practices we set up differently
Audiology sits next to the other practices selling a device and the expertise around it.
Marketing by company size
The same platform, framed by how many locations you run, not by what you treat.
You have questions. We have answers.
What comes up on the first call with an audiology practice.
Has over-the-counter really changed our business?
It changed what you are selling. Since the rule took effect in October 2022 the device is available without you, so the practice is now selling the measurement, the fitting and the follow-up, and the marketing has to say that out loud.
Should we criticize OTC devices?
No, and it backfires. The honest line is what the category actually covers, which is adults 18 and over with perceived mild to moderate loss. Perceived is doing a great deal of work in that sentence and explaining it is far more persuasive than dismissing the product.
People take years to act on hearing loss.
Typically, and almost nobody is publishing for that period. Content aimed at somebody who suspects they have a problem but is not ready to do anything is the cheapest audience in this field because no competitor is bidding for it.
Trials often do not convert.
And most practices give up after one attempt. Somebody who trialed and returned devices has not rejected the idea, they usually had a fit or expectation problem, and that is a conversation worth restarting.
