What matters for shops, dealers and detailers
Automotive splits into three buyers with different needs. Repair shops win on trust and reviews, so content that shows real work and steady review requests matter most. Dealerships win on speed, so every lead needs a fast reply. Mobile detailers win on photos and word of mouth, so a simple booking page and before-and-after posts carry most of the marketing.
Tools that connect to the systems you already run fit best. Service Stories reads completed work orders from shop software such as Tekmetric and Shopmonkey, which is why it tops this list: the content comes from jobs you already did. Steer and Markate attach review requests and reminders to the job record.
Watch the terms at the dealer end. Tecobi publishes its prices, which is rare, but the lower monthly price needs a 12 month term and the setup fee runs from $499 to $1,995. If you already pay for shop management software, check what marketing it includes before you add another tool.
For most independent shops, the useful pairing is one tool that turns jobs into content and one that asks every customer for a review. Some tools on this list do both; most do one.
