Independent comparison

MoFlo vs

Buffer
The default social scheduler — clean, cheap, and priced per channel.
How they compare
Buffer is a scheduler. MoFlo is a content team. Buffer takes a post you already wrote and publishes it on time, for about $5 per channel per month. MoFlo writes the post, makes the image, picks the hashtags, and publishes it, starting at $149/mo. If you have someone writing your content, Buffer is cheaper and better at its job. If you are that someone and it isn't happening, the price gap is the wrong number to look at.
Pick Buffer if someone in your business already writes the content and enjoys it, you only care about social, and you want the cheapest reliable way to get posts out. That is a completely legitimate setup and we would rather you spend $30 than $149 for something you won't use. Also pick Buffer if a mobile app or link-in-bio is load-bearing for you. Both are cheap to keep alongside MoFlo — Buffer's free plan covers them — and neither is where we spend engineering time, because neither produces content.

Choose MoFlo if
Pick MoFlo if the bottleneck is producing content, not scheduling it. If your queue has been empty for three weeks, if you also need email and blogs and Google reviews handled, or if you are the owner and marketing is the thing that keeps sliding to next week — that is the problem MoFlo is built for.
Where each platform shines
Where Buffer wins
Buffer is genuinely good, and it is very hard to beat on price. Being straight about this:
It is cheaper, and not by a little
The free plan is real
Per-channel pricing is honest
Where MoFlo wins
Same posts go out — MoFlo just writes them first.
Writes the post, not just the queue
Four channels, one subscription
Flat price, however many channels

Why teams switch to MoFlo
The real cost of Buffer isn't Buffer
Buffer at $30/mo plus four hours a week of your own writing is the actual price. At any sensible value on your time that is several thousand dollars a year, and it is the line item nobody puts in the spreadsheet. MoFlo's $149 replaces the four hours, not the $30.
An empty queue is the failure mode
Almost nobody churns off a scheduler because the scheduling broke. They churn because they stopped filling it. Buffer is excellent at publishing a queue and has no opinion about whether one exists. MoFlo generates ahead of you, so the queue is full by default.
Social is a third of the problem
You also owe customers email, a blog Google can index, and replies to Google reviews. On Buffer that is three more tools and three more bills — realistically Buffer plus Mailchimp plus a writer plus something for reviews. MoFlo's bundle is $299/mo for all four channels.
Your posts stop starting from zero
MoFlo's Knowledge engine holds your services, service area, and offers; Personas holds your voice. Post 200 reads like post 1. In Buffer, every caption starts from an empty box no matter how long you have been a customer.
One bill, one login, no per-channel math
Adding TikTok to MoFlo changes nothing about your invoice. On Buffer, every new platform is another line. Not a huge amount of money — but it is a decision you have to keep making, and it quietly discourages exactly the expansion you want.
Switch to MoFlo with a clear plan
01
Export your Buffer queue and analytics from Settings → Data Export. You keep your history.
02
Connect the same social accounts to MoFlo — Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, TikTok. Nothing is disconnected from Buffer, so you can run both.
03
Point FloGen at your domain. It reads your site and drafts your first weeks of posts in your voice.
04
Run both for a fortnight. Compare what MoFlo drafted against what you actually managed to write in Buffer, then cancel whichever lost.
